I want to thank a few midwives who made what was a difficult/ traumatic experience at KEMH much better. Firstly Bonnie and Tayla (sorry if I have spelt incorrectly). Tayla, you so keenly supporting me to go in to theatre after having been there the night before caring for me in early labour, your familiar face and encouragement meant so much. Bonnie thank you for supporting me, and trying so hard to get the outcome I wanted.
I can't help but be angry sometimes that I was facing extra pressure due to my predicted 4.5kg baby who was considerably smaller at 3.7kg, and I wonder if the size was known would I have been sent home at 1cm instead of admitted.. anyway, your support meant so much.
Erin and Ashleigh on Ward 3 thank you for your care. I am EBF my baby and I thank you for that, you played a big part in getting my baby off formula post NICU. Erin thanks for getting the colustrum straight to my baby and for even giving me a window of sleep, and Ashleigh for listening to me and what mattered to me. The care from you 4 won't be forgotten and made the experience so much less clinical.. thank you. Your job is so important and I believe so many women will have been held by what you do.
