Recently I attended Bentley Hospital for a Urology procedure. I was first in the door and the receptionist completed all paperwork quickly.
An orderly came to get me and take me to the Ward waiting room, after introducing herself to me. I was then introduced to a Nurse who told me she would be with me throughout my stay.
I had all pre-ops completed, met one of the surgeons, then the Anaesthetist. Everything was explained in detail to me and after being prepped was taken by two very friendly orderlies to the Theatre where I met another Surgeon and Anaesthetist, along with two nurses.
All along the way, I was informed about what was going to happen before, during and after the operation.
I felt fully inclusive about what was happening to me, and the service delivered to me that day at Bentley was superb, and I believe I could not have had better anywhere.
If someone is undergoing a procedure in a hospital setting, and is made to feel valued and inclusive, it just has to benefit all concerned.
In my opinion, hospital culture has changed over the years, and I believe Bentley is leading the way.
Thank you all for the work you do.
"Excellent care"
