In early February, I found myself transferred to Korumburra Hospital after undergoing surgery at a city hospital. It was strange to be so close to home, but in a place that felt so unfamiliar.
It wasn’t before long that I started to relax, this place started to feel like a second home.
The nurses were kind, caring and attentive. Nothing was too much and they made sure I felt like I was a priority while dealing with other patients. This was unlike my city hospital experience.
It wasn’t just the nurses but all staff including the physio’s, the allied staff, catering staff, cleaners anyone that I had a daily interaction with they all had time for a chat and made my time their exceptional.
I’ve left the hospital but it wasn’t easy as it was my safe haven as I knew I was being cared for and looked after, now it’s up to me.
Now I know what Korumburra does it’s no longer a mystery to me and I will make sure I let people know what a treasure it is.
