"The MGP program in Karratha"

The midwifery group practice in Karratha was such an emotionally healing experience for me. After a traumatic birth in 2013 I came into my current pregnancy in 2025 with post birth trauma around my care and ability to birth babies safely. 

Lea absolutely changed that! I’m certain that she was sent from heaven to heal me and show me that I am able to do anything with the right support. 

From our very first appointment she was our advocate for the type of birth I wanted, the type of care I wanted to receive and the experience I needed for this birth. And she delivered! Lea and her care buddy Kala supported me and my husband every step of the way and never once made us feel we had to make a decision that didn’t sit right with us for any reason. 

When it came to our birth and labor, Lea helped me feel empowered and informed enough to labour at home without the need for medical intervention, bright hospital lights or anything that didn’t serve me. 

I ended up having a totally unmedicated water birth, arriving to the hospital at 8cm dilated and Lea supported me every step of the way on this healing birth. 

I have never felt more empowered as a woman and will sing the MGP praises to anyone who will listen!!
