"Breakfast"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital

(as the patient),

Catering claim to be out of Sultana Bran for the past 2 weeks. In my opinion, this is the highest fibre breakfast cereal which still has some taste to it (All Bran has more fibre, but zero taste). For patients in whom fibre intake is critical, I don’t think it is acceptable to run out of sultana bran for 2 weeks. I believe it shouldn’t be allowed to run out at all, but even if it did run out surely it could be obtained within 1-2 days?

Dear decembertn59,

Thanks for alerting this issue to us. I have liaised with the Director, Operations Management, who advised me that catering are aware of the shortage. The current Sultana Bran supplier has been out of stock for a while, so catering have recently sourced a new supplier, which is due to arrive next week.

In the meantime, your post highlighted to the catering team that although other high fibre breakfast cereals are on the menu, Sultana Bran was not removed while out of stock and they have asked me to pass on their apologies for this.

It will be re-added to the menu when the new stock arrives later this week.

Kind regards,

Luke Dix
