From the moment my Specialist Gastro-Enterologist, Dr Mort, scheduled the Colonoscopy, I knew I was in the best hands!
With a history of Chrohn's Colitis, colonoscopies, and two emergency bowel blockages, how fortunate am I to receive my treatment from the gentleman described as a well-renowned, highly regarded man based at West Gippsland Endoscopy. Dr Mort possesses 'the' best of Doctor Patient relationships. His care, knowledge, treatment, with ongoing assessment, is reassurance not always received in my experience. I could not speak more highly of this gentleman.
As well, his support team, in their own right is a valued member, and valued by me.
Every occasion, every interaction, in each of their fields, I am met with exceptional talent as a client, customer, member of the community, of the public.
MARK: Dr Mort's office assistant is marvellous. Kind, courteous, clear. Nothing is too much trouble. A terrific young man.
IRENE: Pre-Admission Nurse. Kindly offered to provide assistance with forms missing across the Christmas New Year period, a must prior to the appt date.
As well, Irene was the Nurse who took charge of me upon arrival at the appt. Very proficient indeed, kind, & so thoughtful.
ABBEY: A Nurse who just a week earlier, sat with me, even as her shift drew to a close, gave me all her attention to complete forms. Even my apologies for delaying her were met with a genuine care for patients, & her dismissal of me worrying for her time, ensuring all details & history was recorded correctly. At the appt Abbey attended to me pre & post colonoscopy. A lovely soul. Fortunate to receive genuine care she embodies caring for others. Observed throughout my stay with each & every patient interaction Abbey had.
CLAIRE: Arriving into theatre, this beautiful lady, full of both informed knowledge & reassurance, prepared me well. I was in good hands, both strong & kind.
PETER: Anaesthetist. What a gentle person. Talking kindly taking my mind from any thought of needles & canula. I have had approx five theatre operations, plus several Lithotripsy treatments. It is without any doubt for me, Dr Peter is 'the best' at a back of hand, canulation insertion. Something I have found 'the' most painful of procedures always. Several have been 3 or more attempts. Once attempts on right hand, then left hand, then right hand again! Dr Peter was efficient, instant, & pain-free. I told him so immediately.
LOUISE: My nurse in theatre. As of all, beautiful, kind, & possessed of the caring, considerate nature so well known in the best nurses.
Last & by no means least...
SUSIE: Receptionist at Day Procedures, my day, Colonoscopies. What a truly fabulous lady. Incredible customer service personality. On the ball, in an instant about everything! As first port of call Susie is the face, the reassuring character, the person desired, particularly for the anxious, unsure, afraid. A true credit to her job & valued member I have no doubt.

Surrounded by the team described above, my colonoscopy was over before I knew it. Feeling fine, with two of these nurses cautioning me about standing, I could walk to recovery without difficulty. As a vegetarian with limited options, Abbey kindly provided a variety of fruit with tea.
I was off as soon as my sister arrived.
LEONGATHA HOSPITAL:
A beautiful hospital with each & every employee I saw, in all sorts of roles, is polite, helpful, clearly spoken (I have hearing aids), & strikes one as thoroughly enjoying their role.
I'm in regional Korumburra, South Gippsland. Leongatha Hospital is 15 mins away. How lucky our communities are to have state of the art facilities & the Doctors, Specialists, nursing staff, etc, we do have.
Thank you for this opportunity to provide my feedback.
Sincerely
well-pleased
