My 3yo sustained a lac to his jawline after an unwitness fall. With emotions high we rushed into Bunbury Hospital ED.
I approached the front desk reception was asked to wait. (Unsure about the procedure Bunbury follows, left feeling confused).
After being seated, after minimal conversation with the front staff, a beautiful nurse (Nikki) approached and asked what happened. She took our details and asked for another nurse that was triaging to look. (The other nurse was rude and dismissive to my concerns of my child being quite and becoming sleeping after a unwitness fall). Nikki kept a close eye and after 10min took us through to be triaged. (I was on the phone to my regular GP for guidance due to being concerned for my child).
We were taken through to meeting a lovely energetic male nurse (sorry I didn't catch your name) and Dr Karim. They were both very professional and took my concerns seriously explaining what to look out for as my child kept saying his vision was affected. As a healthcare professional I respect the care they took to ensure my child was comfortable and pain free before assessing and applying the stitches.
He was given a teddy and iceypole that fixed everything.
Thank you to the team that looked after my child.
"Being on the otherside of healthcare."
