About: Joondalup Health Campus

(as the patient),

I spent almost a week at Joondalup hospital. Based on my experience, the food quality at the hospital was inedible.

The weetbix breakfast was good though and basically that’s all I ate. I also kept any fresh fruit to nibble on later.

I was excited that jelly was on my tray but the jelly was diet jelly and tasted fowl because of the chemical sugar they use. Another thumbs down.

If I could have paid for the meals that private patients get I would have, my spouse kept bringing me soup and sandwiches.

I got chefs choice more time than I got what I asked for, and I was ticked off about that. Why bother having a menu when they don’t send you what you want.

To be honest “chef “ is not the term I would use in that kitchen. Bad cooks more like it, in my opinion. How can people get well eating like that?

Update posted by deploymentzr89 (the patient)

In my opinion, I feel we shouldn’t have to fight for a basic human right.

I have a health problem that limits my choices. So that’s why chefs choice is not an option for me. But I feel that was ignored.

I still would like to know why the private patients get better meals than the poor.

I feel we all need proper nourishment, even more so when in hospital.
