I'm very grateful the MAPS program at Osbourne Park Hospital. I feel there is something so encouraging about seeing the same midwife every time, there is great peace of mind because you are known - not just your medical background but your hopes for the birth, your preferences and your fears. I loved the morning tea where I got to chat with women a few weeks ahead of me, that was an absolute highlight. The care after birth was so reassuring too, to know Erin was coming to visit and there would be someone to follow up with in such a vulnerable time after the birth was a real blessing. I think this is a fantastic program!

Congratulations on the birth of your baby and thank you for sharing about your experience of the MAPS program at Osborne Park Hospital. You have highlighted some of the benefits of continuity of care during pregnancy, and it’s lovely to hear how Erin’s care provided such a sense of comfort, having taken the time to understand not just your medical needs but also your personal hopes and concerns.

The morning tea sessions with other expectant mothers sound like a lovely way to build a supportive community and share experiences, and having post-birth follow-up visits from Erin must have been incredibly reassuring during such a vulnerable time.
