"Failed both my kids"

About: Armadale Hospital Armadale Hospital / Birth Suite (and Antenatal Assessment Unit) Armadale Hospital / Maud Bellas Maternity Ward & Neonatal Nursery

(as a parent/guardian),

So had my baby at Armadale hospital unfortunately they seemingly didn’t like my birth plan that was signed off by there high risk ob so I was told I wouldn’t get a midwife to visit the house I was to bring my newborn there. My newborn got a infection from there. Out of all the peads and drs and laction consultants I was told bubs didn’t have a lip tie, I blindly believed them. Turns out my baby has a stage 4 lip tie that goes to the roof of the mouth and I have to fork out over a thousand dollars to get the lip sniped.

Not to mention my other profoundly disabled child took a 2m fall head and neck first was made to wait over a hr to be seen their head dipping. They can’t talk but their walking was worse. We were booked to have them sedated and images done then shift change happened and the doctor I felt was a know it all came in and I recall said, I’m trying to convince you not to do it then said the mri and the cat scan gives you cancer. I told the doctor the benefits out weigh the risks they still refused. I believe they are not disabled friendly.

Dear importermr88,

I was so sad and very sorry to read about your reported experiences at Armadale Hospital with both of your children.

I fully understand that you must be frustrated and upset about the interactions you have mentioned.

Accountability is very important to us at Armadale Kalamunda Group, so please may you consider getting in touch so that we can investigate matters further, and, if you wish, meet with myself to discuss these matters such that we can take the right actions by learning for improvement.

Please may I therefore encourage you to contact us via the Consumer Liaison Service on (08) 9391 1153 or by email to AKG_ConsumerLiaison@health.wa.gov.au

Kindest Wishes,

Neil
