I was lucky enough to be accepted into FBC, during this time my midwife was Yumi, she made me feel super comfortable and confident from the beginning
She’s extremely knowledgeable and personable which put me at ease as this was my first pregnancy, unfortunately for me she was on annual leave for the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy/birth
I was then moved onto Viv, she was also just as great and made the transition seamless.
Then as the time came and my baby was ready to enter the world Viv had just been at a birth the night before so I then met Janelle (crazy first introductions haha) but she was so lovely and I’m so grateful to her for being by my side during my birth.
During my pregnancy I had made it known that a water birth was my first preference, it was really unfortunate (or fortunate) that my son decided to make a quick entrance and the bath was only half way filled.
I would also like to mention that Emily popped in and out during my labour, birth and did a home visit post birth and she was a superstar!
One thing I was a little disappointed with was the home visit, as a first time new mum it would have been nice to have 1 or 2 midwives doing those visit, I had 4 or 5.
Otherwise the care was incredible and im so glad I was able to be a part of FBC
