"Setting up the services for my Dad"

About: Bunbury Hospital / South West Palliative Care Service

(as a relative),

My Dad was referred to the palliative care team in Bunbury lead by Dr L.

So far we have had meetings with Nurse (Fiona) and OT (Anthony).

I just wanted to let you know that the service, care and advice so far for my Dad is nothing short of amazing. Thanks so much. Just to have someone we can talk too when Dad isn’t  feeling great, is such a relief for the family.  Nothing has been too much trouble, and Anthony has contacted me to keep me up to speed on interactions with Dad as I wasn’t able to attend today’s meeting.

My parents are struggling with Dad’s hard of hearing and Mum’s short term memory issues, but I am confident that this team has his best interests at heart, and will help them achieve their desire to stay at home for as long as possible.

Thanks so much for this service, I can’t fully explain what it means to me and my family.

Many thanks for this heartfelt feedback AnonPM

I will be sure to pass this onto the Bunbury Palliative Care team, especially Anthony (OT) and Fiona (Nurse). They really value and appreciate consumer feedback. The palliative care team support patients in the community to access the care and support they need to stay at home for as long as possible. I am glad Anthony has been touching base regularly and keeping you informed. It’s so important that we know our loved ones are cared for and their wishes respected. I hope they will be able to continue to support your dad, your family and loved ones during this difficult period. Once again, thank you for the kind words

Kind regards

Joanne
