"ED to OT"

About: Wodonga Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I came into the Wodonga ED in the worst pain I have ever experienced, I didn't wait long to be triaged, immediately I was given analgesic and taken straight through to a bed.  This is where I was met by a wonderful Nurse named Maddi. She cannulated me, and I literally couldn't even feel it. She promptly administered IV analgesic and did everything in her power to get my pain under control. She showed so much compassion and care, constantly checking up on me and advocating for me when my pain was not controlled.

They had ran out of heat packs and wonderful lady named Kylie went above and beyond to go to a different ward and find me a heat pack.

Kylie who was the in charge nurse at the time, came in ensured I was okay, re-assured me and explained what the plan was.

Being a nurse myself I was absolutely amazed at how well the whole team worked considering how busy the department was.

I am so very greatful for the care of these wonderful nurse.

I than had to have an emergency surgery, the team that were called in were an absolute delight, so kind compassionate and caring. They also made me feel welcomed and cared for me so well. There humours bubbly personalities made the experience so much better.

Overall a fantastic experience!

Thankyou again to all the wonderful team that contributed to my care.
