"Staff conduct"

About: St John of God Murdoch Hospital

(as the patient),

After having been a patient at St John of god Murdoch, never again! Rude staff, staff that don’t know what they’re doing and to top it all of, I felt being bullied by staff and witnessing other staff members seemingly be bullied.

I have never been so shocked in my life to see how a hospital that is supposedly one of perths “leading hospitals”, treats its patients and staff. Being subjected to behaviour such as, I recall, being told, you don’t know what you’re on about (I’m a nurse myself), to seeing staff almost in tears from being, in my opinion, bullied by their colleagues, leaves me almost speechless.

To top it all of, I believe it’s quite obvious that doctors there don’t read charts, as I was almost given a medication that would’ve made me seriously sick. I recall the nurse saying, I'm going to get the medication you’ve been prescribed by the doctor now.

“Which medication is that?”

The nurse told me and I immediately said no and asked them to look at my chart. They continued to try and deny that there was a problem. There is a reason they have different coloured arm bands at that hospital, and there is also a reason there are parts of the charts that are marked for allergies! If only the staff would, in my opinion, be able to learn how to perform their duties properly…… I think they should hang their heads in shame!
