We recently gave birth at home through the Community Midwifery Program (CMP) In Perth, WA. We were a part of the North CMP program for the entirety of my pregnancy and have just had our final discharge appointment in our postpartum care. Our midwife Malita was phenomenal. We cannot fault her and had the most incredibly supportive, healing, informed and safe home birth that was so much better than anything myself or my husband could ever have imagined. Malita was well informed, she was honest but so positive and empathetic in her treatment and care of us. She was also beautiful and patient with our eldest daughter (2.5) who attended all our appointments and the birth at home too.
Having someone as experienced, capable and kind as our midwife completely transformed and shaped our pregnancy and birth experience and we are eternally grateful to Malita and the program.
We wish that free home birth programs like this existed all over the country as it truly transformed our experience of birth and has left me feeling so empowered and proud of my capacity to carry and birth my babies.
