I would like to pass on my feedback, thanks and compliments to the amazing team who cared for me in my recent six day stay in POW Hospital.
Recently I presented to the POW Hospital Emergency Department following advice from my Dr and was swiftly taken through Triage and was attended by the Emergency Department and then the ENT team. The team worked together and quickly arranged for a CT Scan, bloods, and a transfer into the resuscitation section.
The team’s co-ordination, calmness, empathy and professionalism gave me the confidence to break down. My shoulders dropped and I had an emotional cry (as it was my son’s high school graduation the next day) and I realised I was going to miss it. The team’s human connection was heartfelt. Not only did they acknowledge my emotions they worked with them and cared for me not just as a number/patient but as a sick mum feeling vulnerable.
People are expected to perform their duties at work, but the care provided by the ENT team was exceptional.
I would like to thank:-
Dr Andrew, Dr Mitch, Dr Emma, Dr Fabihah, and Paula from the bottom of my heart.
In addition, the speech pathologist, Penny, who was also fabulous and provided me with surprisingly simple but vital effective tips for me to move forward.
I would also like to thank two of the nursing staff, Jess in the high dependency area and Courtney in Dickson North who provided nursing care and kindness.
It would be appreciated if you could pass on my feedback and thanks to those mentioned above and also all other hospital staff who assisted me.
