"Changes to booking procedures"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital / ASB L0 - Admissions Department

(as the patient),

I have no complaint with the nurses and doctors. In my experience, they are wonderful professional and caring people.

My complaint relates to the new administrative procedures instigated by the hospital relating to admissions.

I finally got an appointment, recently at the urology department for a botox procedure. The procedure could not be completed because I did not receive the directions issued by my doctor from the administration person who made my booking. This was a huge waste of time for me and the medical staff, particularly my doctor.

Previously my my admission was handled by the urology department and was always completely satisfactory.

In my opinion, the innovation of lumping all admissions into the hands of casual staff, who cannot possibly have the  experience and expertise of the administrative staff of the individual departments is totally flawed and inadequate. 

I felt very annoyed and frustrated.
