"No Referral"

About: Geraldton Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My grandparent was admitted to ED recently direct from GP. GP wrote a letter for urgent investigation of pacemaker not working. They were monitored overnight and discharged the following day. They were told to follow up with GP in a week for a referral to cardiologist at the hospital - ?pacemaker still not working/resolved. I feel the referral could have been done by the ED department and avoided the delay in treatment. Still waiting to be seen by cardiologist in Geraldton for ? transfer to a metropolitan hospital for follow up.
