"Self termination attempt"

About: Karratha Health Campus

(as the patient),

My world caved in, out of options and hope goal of never seeing my love ones again, I made a active choice to hang up my boots and release my mind from physical form. 24hrs later I told myself to get to hospital your either going to die very slowly or be gravey ill. Once arriving, I opened up to the pilbara health medical team and I was unaware of the available help support and care that was. I have been inspired to get back on my feet, life is worth living. I've been told some hard truths about how my act has or could have effected so many life's. Though it's only been a few days, I am positive but it will require work which I know there is support here it the bush if you ask for it. There will be tough times ahead I'm sure of it and with some tools the team provide I'm sure I'll be fine. All the best Karratha Health Campus and team.

Stay fit 💪 mind and body and get to the gym, stay swole.

Dear Captain Sausages

I am sorry to hear you have been though a very tough time recently. It’s good to know you are on a more positive path now.

The mental health team here at Karratha Health Campus have an important role to care for and continue to help people in our community in their time of need. As you say, staying strong in mind and body is so important. Keeping this going is really what takes the hard yards and you know you can do that with the support of the health professionals around you. Know that you are not alone and that our teams are here to help you on your journey in making the right choices, which will give you the tools and strength for a long, happy and healthy life.

Stay well and I encourage you to re-present to Karratha Health Campus Emergency Department should you ever feel you need additional support; this was absolutely the right thing to do. If you’re not aware, there is also a support phone number provided by Rurallink (1800 552 002) as a confidential service from experienced mental health professionals as an option. Requesting a call back through this service is always available.

We will be sure to pass on your story to our team. Hearing positive outcomes is a reminder of just how important their role is each and every day.

Wishing you well for your future.

Warm regards

Paula Jolly, Acting Operations Manager West Pilbara.
