My husband was taken by ambulance to Peel Health Campus he had pancreatic cancer and a weak heart and was diagnosed with pneumonia.
His treatment was appalling at the hospital the doctors we saw were dismissive and not helpful at all. My husband was put in a room with dementia patients...my husband did not have dementia.
The apparent, utterly dismissive and uncaring attitude towards my husband was terrible and was witnessed by other patients family at the time. I understand one person was so angry that they gave the patient liaison officer their contact details in order for them to be contacted as a witness to the dreadful verbal treatment my husband received.
My husband took ill when I brought him home from Peel Hospital within 24 hours I rang an ambulance and had him taken to another hospital. I did not want him to return to Peel Hospital under any circumstances.
My husband only got worse and later died in the other hospital My husband had contracted COVID 19 at Peel Hospital according to the doctors at the other hospital.
My complaint to the patient liaison officer went nowhere... I felt they dismissed my complaint completely. I believe something needs to radically change at that hospital, I think it is incredible that it still operates in such a wealthy state as Western Australia. I feel angry and devastated about it all.
Where is the caring and humane attitude that Peel Hospital is supposed have....posters everywhere at the hospital allegedly telling the public that they care.
Please take my concerns about my husband’s care at that, in my opinion, appalling hospital seriously ... I believe something has to be done about it.
