I presented my 7mth old son at urgent care recently for hydration check as he had refused food and milk all day.
We were referred to Bunbury ED after he continued to vomit.
Nothing obvious was presenting, stats good and no fever but the ED doctor could tell we were concerned and our baby wasn't himself.
Fortunately, the ED doctor pushed for admission and we went over to the paediatric ward in the early hours of the morning.
The paeds doctor doing rounds the following morning (mature female who's name escapes me) and her team, Sam, Robbie, Matt and the nursing staff, especially Kate, were amazing.
The doctor really listen to our baby's symptoms.
The cause was found and required an RFDS transfer to PCH for treatment. The team split and conquered all the tasks involved, care and stabilisation, logistics, information and resources for us as parents . The lady in charge was a huge assurance for us.
Our care and treatment at Bunbury Children's Ward was fantastic. Thank you so very much for everything you all do!
PCH emergency team were brilliant. It was so daunting and scary being away from home under an emergency medical situation.
The surgical team that accepted us, and their colleagues in radiology, were fantastic.
