"This hospital gave me organs and medical conditions I don't have!"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

After going to the GP with severe stomach pain i was told to visit Kalgoorlie hospital and go for a CT scan with contrast, the report showed that i had distended gallbladder but i had my gallbladder removed 7 years ago. After being in ED with the conclusion that i was having an endometriosis flare up the doctors wanted to discharge me with the same medicine i had been taking for 4 days with no relief. So thankful i seen Dr G and was listened too i was kept in overnight with higher pain relief. After looking at my discharge letter it shows i have a medical condition that i have never had i feel let down by this hospital there errors can make you lose trust very quickly

Dear redqg77

Thank you for reaching out to us. I agree that mistakes such as the ones you have described have a big impact on the trust our patients have in our health services. Therefore, consumer feedback, like yours, that identifies key areas for improvement is so important. I would very much like the chance to have your case reviewed, so the cause for these errors can be identified and necessary changes made. I would greatly appreciate if you could reach out to us on 9080 5817 or via email gsegcg@health.wa.gov.au so we can confirm your details and this could be completed.

I hope your pain has improved and you are now feeling better. I also hope you will not hesitate to come into the ED if your pain or symptoms get worse. Again, please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can help in any way.

Kind regards

Alicia
