"Dad's last days"

About: Sutherland Hospital / Barkala

(as a relative),

When I was told that dad needed palliative care not only was I shocked, I was not sure what to expect. The nurses on the Barkala ward were amazing and very supportive during his last days. The Palliative care team were also very supportive and kept us informed along the way. As a nurse myself, I asked many questions and no one ever hesitated to response to me.  I would like to thank everyone involved.

Dear Djjmof3,

Please accept my condolences on the death of your father. I appreciate you taking the time to write of your experience during what must be a very difficult time for you and your family.

I was touched to read of the impact our Palliative Care team had on you and your family in helping to support you and keep you informed during this time. It will give me great pleasure to pass you kind words onto the Palliative Care team and the nursing team on the Barkala ward. We are truly fortunate to have such dedicated staff working at Sutherland Hospital.

I wish you and your family well.

Sincerely

Vicki Weeden
