We had the most incredible experience with the Albany Hospital maternity team and think the leadership team needs to know how amazing you all are!
Feedback:
- Professionalism - in their duties but being flexible and creative when challenges arose. This felt like person centred, holistic care.
- Teamwork - it is great to see other professions work together. I saw respect and support amongst the staff.
- Informed decision-making - thorough information with space to ask questions and discuss it amongst ourselves. This enabled us to make informed decisions around our care needs. We always felt heard, supported and respected in our decisions.
- Kindness and compassion - thank you for being human and not a robot.
- Communication - there was never any doubt in what was happening or why. Communication between the midwives and our GPO was thorough and follow up consistent.
Our experience was positive from the get go. From the very first midwife booking appointment to the day of discharge and home midwife visits. Every phone call and visit with concerns was attended to with compassion, validation and respect and we were always seen and attended to in a timely manner. I am particularly grateful for the help troubleshooting breastfeeding and settling overnight, as well as looking after baby for a few hours overnight to let me rest after giving birth.
A special shout out to our midwives Lou, both Jo's, Alex, Hayley (student midwife), Dr Liz (GPO) and Deb (food services/house keeping) as well as the whole team who looked after us. We are so lucky to have such fantastic maternity care here in Albany and are grateful for you all.
