"Hypnobirthing and My Birth"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Maternity Ward Positive Birth Program

(as the patient),

I wanted to reach out and thank you the facilitators of the positive birth and positive caesarean classes offered at Kalgoorlie hospital and telehealth.

Obviously my birth was not what I was hoping, however because of what we learnt and prepared for from the classes, it was still a positive birth experience. And I wouldn't have thought I'd ever describe having a Cat 1 C section under GA as positive.

The mindset that the hypnobirthing tools set me up with, and the midwives (specifically my student midwife) are the reason a potentially traumatic birth ended up still being such a positive experience for both my partner and I.

Thank you to the those who run the Hypnobirthing Australia classes, the wonderful midwives on the Kalgoorlie labour ward, the theatre team who were called in and the maternity ward staff who cared for me and bub after the birth.

Congratulations firekw55 on the birth of your baby!

I am so pleased that you were able to access the Positive Birth Program in-person at Kalgoorlie Hospital with Midwife Amy and our Positive Caesarean Program on-line.

I will be sure to pass your feedback to the Parent Education Team and the maternity team at Kalgoorlie Hospital - thank you.

How amazing are you to navigate everything that you did with your birth experience and to come out of it with such positive mental health. This is truly a testament to your preparation, knowledge, the tools you had and the support you received from your partner and the maternity team at Kalgoorlie hospital.

Thank you for sharing your story and inspiring other families.

Kind regards

Kasey

Dear firekw55

Thank you so much for reaching out and telling us about your experience. It is so important for both our teams to hear the difference that they make, as well as other expectant parents being able to see what services may be helpful for them too.

Whilst I am sorry that things did not go to plan, I am so pleased that you felt equipped to navigate your journey with such confidence that it was a positive experience.

I will be sure to share your feedback with the team here in Kalgoorlie too. I hope you are all settling into life with your new family member. Please reach out if there is anything we can do to help or support you.

Kind regards Alicia
