I have been a part of the FSH MDFU & want to acknowledge the fantastic care that has been received. I am grateful to have Dr Emma , Jon (snr podiatrist) & the team committed to show compassion & empathy in my complex health ride. They showed that MDFU is so beneficial in keeping me out of hospital- by great communication in a system that often makes this hard! Understanding that 800km is a long way- by having generic email to send pics & advice; seeing all we need at once - a one stop shop! ; being supportive of our local service. An added bonus was their kindness.
Continuance of care has been invaluable- having Dr Emma & Jon during acute phases (briefly but always reassuring) & at outpts seems to be rare in our system. I have had 3 stays with 2 over 30 days- having continuity of care meant I didn’t have to tell my story over & they knew me.
I feel the quality of service with complex wounds is fantastic & we are grateful for the support we & our local health service have received.
We are lucky to have such a great team working to improve access to specialist healthcare for all of WA with quality & kindness.
