"Timely, kind, practical care for out of towners"

About: Margaret River Hospital / Emergency Department St John of God Bunbury Hospital

(as a relative),

I had received a call from my sister's friends from the Margaret River Emergency Department. My sister had been injured while on holiday. All of our family, sister included, live in NSW and it was daunting to think about how to support and help her from such a distance.

But, I hadn't counted on the amazing Nursing & Medical staff at Margaret River Hospital. Both the ED & the Ward were incredible. Professional, kind, efficient & consultative.

From NSW, while my sister was incapacitated & requiring surgery, our family was able to organise all the details with the Hospital staff. By the time she was transfered to Bunbury for surgery all of the details were sorted out, all of us were completely informed & we felt she was safe. She felt safe.

A special shout out to the Ward Manager Sandra, she was incredible. Nothing too much trouble.

By the time I arrived in WA to support my sister, all plans were in place & I knew she was getting the best possible care. We got her home & she is recovering.

The staff at St John of God in Bunbury were amazing as well.

Thankyou so much to all the Teams involved.

Dear GC69,

Thank you for sharing your sister’s positive experience regarding the care she received at Margaret River Hospital.

It is wonderful to hear that professionalism, kindness, efficiency and consultation were witnessed by you; our team pride themselves on excellent patient advocacy. We see this as being very important in a frightening medical experience.

We are incredibly lucky in Margaret River to have a great team of staff who take pride in ensuring our patients get the very best of care.

We embody our core values of community, compassion and integrity and consistently provide a high level of care from the admin and support service staff to the doctors, nurses and allied health staff. As you kindly put it, “nothing is ever too much trouble”.

I will ensure that your post will be shared amongst our staff and you can rest assured it will definitely make their day!!

Thanks once again for your wonderful post and we hope that your sister is continuing on her road to recovery.

Kind regards,

Sandy Znidarsich
