I was suffering from pain from a kidney infection etc. I went to the emergency room of Prince of Wales Randwick.
In my opinion, they have moved the emergency room to the most inconvenient part of the hospital - the absolute other end of the building - had to walk quite a while, being sick it seemed an eternity - and then take an elevator to another level. Booked in fine sat in the small wait area.
Finally, was called for questions on my ailment and history. I don't mind being asked personal and intrusive questions, but I do mind having to explain these in the corridor. Where I sat was no more than two metres from the reception area, for all to hear my private information. Quite humiliating.
The poor nurse apologised and said that there was no other area for the interview, they tried to help by whispering the questions. I hear well but what about those with hearing problems? I find it extraordinary that triage questions aren't given a room for private discussions. Considering that this is a new installation, I believe they should have accounted for this in their move. The old facility at least had a separate room for these discussions. Privacy and respect please.
"Triage in the hallway."
