"Waiting time"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

In my opinion, we are building the most expensive road for people who want to spend the weekend in Margaret River, but do not have enough staff at the Bunbury hospital to have a fluid emergency department or even to find a decent parking spot close to the emergency for people with walking disabilities. I believe waiting times are a disgrace!

Dear octoberft89,

I'm sorry to hear about your recent experiences at Bunbury Hospital. Our ED does at times have significant demand that will impact our ability to see patients quickly. The ED team is always mindful of how best to prioritise and stream patients - and recognises that waiting times can be frustrating for some patients.

With regards to parking, there are allocated low mobility bays at the front of the hospital directly opposite ED.

The State government recently announced a $451 million commitment to significantly expand the Bunbury Hospital campus in line with expected population growth in the South West. Planning and design works have commenced, and we are really excited about how this expansion will serve the community going forward.

I thank you for your feedback and wish you well in your recovery.

Yours sincerely,

John Brearley

Dear octoberft89,

Thought I'd check in to see if there is anything further you might require?

All the best.

John
