I have suspect nodule in my right lung. I went through a bronchoscopy at Fiona Stanley 1 month ago. Excellent service at this hospital.
Results came back negative, for a moment elated. But my Specialist in Bunbury disagreed & wanted to remove a portion of my lung. We had words.... they took the results to a multidisciplinary team meeting @ Fiona Stanley. The verdict was a 2nd biopsy. I had this recently ago, under local. The person I believed was doing this went on holiday, no-one mentioned this.
The Doctor whom I got was lovely, but alas after the biopsy, they pierced an air bubble & I had a collapsed lung. They worked hard and removed most of the issue, after I went on a drain for 4 hours. I had an x-ray and sent home, as most of the issue was resolved.
The staff at Bunbury Regional were fabulous. The Nurse in charge Stuart was very informative, the nurses on ward amazing, the man who performed the biopsy was calm and spoke with me throughout the experience. I was very impressed. My only gripe was not being informed about the Doctor who went on leave.
