"Amazing birth experience"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Family Birth Centre

(as a service user),

I chose the family birth centre for my pregnancy and birth journey and couldn’t fault the care I received. From my initial appointment to my post birth home visits I felt educated, supported and listened to. This enabled me to make my own decisions around birth choices, knowing that I had the midwives right by my side the whole way through. I feel every woman should be this empowered in pregnancy. The family birth centre is a real asset to WAs healthcare system, I only wish there were more centres where continuity of care is regarded as standard, not a privilege.

Dear Mumma24

Congratulations on the birth of your baby and thank you for reaching out to share your positive feedback with us. I’m so pleased to read about how empowered you felt with the care and support provided by the Family Birth Centre (FBC) midwives. At the Women & Newborn Health Service, we are extremely proud of the level of kindness and compassion demonstrated by our staff, and your positive feedback about access to continuity of care models is gratefully received.

Kind regards

Delaney
