I was contacted by surgical waitlist team for a date for my 7 month old child's surgery, we were given just over 2 weeks notice for the surgery date. 5 days later I was contacted and informed they made a mistake and their surgery is no longer on that date nor do they have a new date as of yet. In this time we had arranged accommodation, transport and time off work to attend as we will be travelling over 1000kms and were required to stay in Perth for over a week. There really wasn’t much of an apology for this error or consideration that we are from the country and have to make arrangements to get to Perth. This was very frustrating and adds to the stress of already having a child who is in need of surgery
