SRT, Psychiatrist and overall Staff care.

About: Rockingham Kwinana Mental Health Service (Adult)

(as a service user),

A few years back, my ongoing Mental Health issues were exacerbated by a traumatic event. I reached out to the Duty Officer, Phil as I had been a previous Client and he was integral in me being given Mental Health support. 

I have found RKMHS SO supportive and they have assisted me through my Mental Health journey with so much compassion. 

My issues do tend to ebb and flow and can vary in intensity. Just when I feel I'm stable....BANG! 

I have been supported by the current Psychiatrist, Dr Emily who takes the time with me. I received valuable support from Psychologist Theresa. I received intense support from Kwelena ( Amazing place). I have also engaged in Art Therapy with Michelle, the Art Therapist who is so kind and provided so much encouragement.

Lastly and currently, I receive  support from the SRT mob- Laura, Kira, Leanne and Phil. These people are amazing and tenacious in their support of the Consumers and each person contributes to a balanced cohesive team. I have engaged in much needed psych Social groups as well as one on ones with them and it is valued by me so much. 

Overall, I don't think I would be alive if it wasn't for Rockingham Kwinana Mental Health Services.

Lastly, the Receptionists and especially Trinn do an awesome job dealing with us Consumers.

Dear bracecb48,

Thank you sincerely for your feedback on your experience at our Rockingham Community Mental Health clinic. It means a lot to our staff to know that they are making a positive difference, especially when we are dealing with significantly high demand as the pressures on people increases.

Your feedback describes the importance of the multidisciplinary approach to treatment and recovery that we provide as best and often as we can. Having continuity of care is something that we know is important, and as you describe, knowing that you can come back to our service and continue your care is a very important part of your recovery.

The care and skill of staff, from receptionist to Consultant, is the other essential element that you describe in your feedback. We know that every person and every part in mental health is vitally important in a person’s treatment and recovery. Whilst we all do different jobs, having staff at every point who treat you with the compassion you describe is how we as a service wish to operate.

Again, my thanks to you for taking the time to provide this feedback.

Thanks for your quick response, Kath.

I hope it has been passed on to the staff mentioned how valued they are, particularly, as you mentioned, when Services are so overwhelmed at the moment.
