"Treatment received at Broome WA Hospital"

About: Broome Health Campus / Emergency Department Broome Health Campus / General ward

(as the patient),

I arrived in Broome in preparation for a two-week adventure tour in The Kimberley departing three days later.

The day before I was due to leave I attended Broome Hospital Emergency Department with a swollen left arm. Firstly, the concern shown by the Reception Triage nurse left me with a feeling I was in good hands, and this was confirmed when I met Dr. Joe. after various test I was diagnose with cellulitis and infection.

I was admitted to the hospital general ward being discharged two days later. As a result, my wife and I missed our tour departure and on advice from doctors, it would not be advisable to travel remotely following my issues we decided to cancel our tour and return home much to our disappointment.

Now the reason for my story is the staff of Broome Hospital. As a group I have not met so many committed caring, understanding and helpful health professionals. The care I received I consider was First Class form every member I receive attention from, I believe someone has these people motivated with caring and patience.

If I could mention a few names and if someone could pass my gratitude on to them:

In Emergency

Annabelle and Julie (best tea maker in Broome)

In the Ward

Nurses: Laura, Ashleigh, Valantini, Kate, Cassidy and Sharron. I may have forgotten a couple my apology to them.

Doctors

Dr. Joe. Dr. Abby and all the gang from the Surgical Team. Thank You.

A great Team.

Dear kappy,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience at Broome Hospital with us. We deeply regret the circumstances that led to the disruption of your adventure tour in The Kimberley due to cellulitis and infection in your left arm. It must have been incredibly disappointing to miss out on such an anticipated journey.

We are genuinely touched by your kind words regarding our staff at Broome Hospital. It means a lot to us to hear that you felt well cared for and supported during your time with us. The dedication and compassion of our team are fundamental to the quality of care we strive to provide, and it's heartening to know that our efforts have made a positive impact during what was undoubtedly a challenging time for you and your wife.

I will ensure that your gratitude is passed on to Annabelle, Julie, Laura, Ashleigh, Valantini, Kate, Cassidy, Sharron, Dr. Joe, Dr. Abby, and the rest of the surgical team. They will be thrilled to hear that their care made a difference in your experience at our hospital.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to recognise our staff. We wish you a swift and complete recovery, and should your travels bring you back to Broome in the future, we hope to see you under much happier circumstances.

Warm regards,

James Sherriff
