"Compassionate and non judgemental care"

About: Joondalup Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My sister took an overdose and was admitted to ED at Joondalup Hospital.

I arrived to see her and clearly looked distressed and somewhat confused by the process, when I took a ticket in the waiting area. A triage nurse saw me and called me over to assist....she immediately organised for me to go through to the triage family area, reassured me and organised for someone to offer a drink. The staff kept me apprised of treatment over the next few hours. Fantastic work Joondalup ED staff......I work in Mental Health and was so grateful and impressed by the quality of your staff.

Dear doradocc45,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) Emergency Department (ED).

It is wonderful to hear that you felt the attention you received from the triage nurse and ED staff was comforting and that you were supported at a very confronting time. JHC values promote that staff show compassion, attentiveness and professionalism and I am pleased to hear that was indeed the case during your visit.

I will ensure that your comments are provided to the Emergency Department who will be delighted to receive this feedback.

Please accept our best wishes for you and your family.

Kind Regards,

Mary Ferrier.
