About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Kalgoorlie Outpatient Clinic

(as the patient),

Room 10, Outpatients at Kalgoorlie Health Campus is right by the doors that lead to the corridor, even when key passed is activated, the doors do not open straight way and people have to stop and wait for the doors to open. Meanwhile, I'm in the room 10 with a Dr with the door wide open talking about very personal issues.  Every person using that door, stopped and looked in as we were talking.  So, I feel either Drs should shut the door, or it shouldn't be used as a consult room.  Very embarrassing.

Thank you for raising this issue with us so that we can now address it.

I am so sorry for causing you any distress or embarrassment when you came to us for care; especially, when there is such a simple solution to prevent this from happening.

I have been down to the Outpatient Clinics myself this morning to speak to the staff rostered on. I will follow this up by speaking with the managers of all the staff that work in this area and working with the team to develop some posters to remind staff how important patient privacy and confidentially is.

Dear pyxisbn96

I wanted to provide you with an update. We have made and put up posters reminding our staff about the importance of protecting our patients' confidentiality by closing the consultation room doors.

Also, our managers have continued to walk through the outpatient clinics and check that doors are being closed by the consulting staff and remind them of the importance of this practise.

Again, I am so sorry for the experience you had and would like to thank you for bringing the issue to out attention so we can continue to make improvements and educate our staff.
