"Midwives that make a positive difference"

When my daughter was about 2 weeks old, we took her to Prince Charles Hospital (Chermside, QLD) because of a high fever. It was a calm and respectful environment whereby I can focus on ensuring my daughter got better. 

 All the doctors and nurses/midwives that treated my baby and I with empathy and great care. This was a great experience compared to the treatment I received at another hospital. I was so impressed and grateful for the Prince Charles Hospital's professionalism and genuine care.

I was relieved that we had our own room (with a bathroom and I could close the door for privacy), the nurses/midwives came quickly when I asked for help, they even explained the process (before conducting any tests), including the possible side effects and the benefits. They were very patient to answer my questions and as a parent, this is really important that avoids anyone feeling anxious. They even explained 'Ryan's Rule', provided warm formula for my baby during the late nights (due to my daughter's cluster feeding) and they also ensured that I was able to order food on my mobile to nurse my baby. 

We stayed there for 2 nights (or 3 days) and throughout my daughter's treatment, each doctor and nurse/midwife were professional, friendly, understanding and respectful. They didnt make us feel dumb or mix up any information regarding my daughter. I was very happy to see that they took the time to understand my daughter's file and her needs (so I didn't have to repeat it each day, which I had to do at the other hospital). Because the doctors provided clear and thorough debriefs regarding my daughter's test results, I felt safe at Prince Charles Hospital. This was a stark difference compared to the maternity ward at the other hospital. I feel the nurses/midwives from this other hospital would greatly benefit to learn from Prince Charles Hospital's nurses/midwives.

Based on my experience, I highly recommend this hospital to bring in your bubs, because their medical treatment, knowledge and skills made our hospital stay enjoyable. Thank you Prince Charles Hospital.
