"Albany Health Campus - Podiatry Clinic"

About: Albany Health Campus / Podiatry

(as the patient),

I am an elderly below knee amputee since 2006 and one year ago I presented to the the team at AHC podiatry with complications of circulation to my existing leg which resulted in a 5 day hospital stay.  But the journey was not over. For the next 12 months the Friday team treated my foot weekly with incredible skill and dedication to their profession. They went above and beyond developing a new heel protection to eliminate pressure sores together with regular wounds dressings.  In summary they saved my leg not once but on several occasions.

The teams are always respectful of my age and my limitations and work together find the best possible solutions. I owe my mobility to them. Thanks Team.

Dear vulpeculacj97,

Thank you so much for your lovely post. We think the podiatry team here in Albany is very skilled and dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality patient care so it is always great to hear that others think so as well.

The team are passionate about preserving patient mobility and consider this in the way that they approach wound care. They create customised care plans for all of their patients and we see many positive outcomes as a result.

We have shared your grateful story with them and the hospital’s leadership team.

Please look after that remaining foot of yours and don’t hesitate to seek medical advice as soon as you notice any changes in it.

Thanks again, vulperculacj97.

All the best.

Wendy McKinley
