As a children’s nurse I would love to provide feedback from a parent who found themselves on the other side!!! one morning as we were getting ready to leave the house, my 4 year old hit his head on the wall which had a pretty big cut on his head that was bleeding quite significantly. We came immediately to the emergency department and was seen by the triage nurse immediately and another nurse also came to assist. We were then able to wait in the children’s waiting room to be seen. I felt reassured throughout and felt like my son was in good hands. His head was glued back together and we were able to leave with aftercare advice and to return if we had any other problems.
We were seen by many people in the few hours that we spend in the department , every single member of staff introduced themselves and treat us with respect and compassion and I am so sorry I don’t remember anyone’s name apart from one lady named Sam. If you met my son and his new teddy “Raspberry Emma” on Anzac Day morning then thank you so much!! You were all amazing!!!
