I had a friend in hospital for a while in Newman recently and couldn’t believe the attitude of some staff. It’s such a stressful time being in hospital but two staff members, both nurses, went out of their way to give what I felt was 10/10 care to my friend and even me as a visitor. They even made us a cuppa when we were emotional.
Unfortunately I believe there are a handful of very rude nurses and doctors who seemingly just can’t be nice given any situation that’s got worse in the last 6 months I reckon. I feel it doesn’t take much to be nice or to show you actually care about your job. I believe you use more muscles scowling than smiling. Come on Newman. I think you can do better.
I think there’s some really great nurses but you worry jagging a shift where you just hope the cranky ones aren’t on. I feel it takes away from the good. Managers I think you need to be active in pulling some aside and reminding them that we are humans in the equation and tell the good ones “on ya!”.
