"Fantastic care"

About: Esperance Health Campus / Ambulatory Care/Outpatients

(as the patient),

I want to recognise the fantastic care received for 12 months from Ambulatory Care team in Esperance. Especially, their leader Michelle & wound extraordinaire Lea. Without their care and passion I don’t believe my massive wound would have healed in 1 year. I also believe they assisted us to be able to stay out of hospital & in our community (800kms from Perth) which was huge concern over the year.

Dressings were daily, then every 2nd day, finally a couple times a week & sometimes in between if there was concerned.

The teams non-judgmental, empathetic, kind & very skilled work ethic made a hard process a lot better. Ambulatory care also drew huge praise from a metropolitan hospital's team on their management which allowed us to Telehealth as much as possible.

We have just been discharged from Ambulatory care after 1 year and are so grateful for their care,

Ambulatory care is a much appreciated service in Esperance! Thank you.

Dear orangenk85

It gave me great pleasure reading your story and then being able to share it with the Ambulatory Care team and acknowledge the care the team provides. The team have a good understanding of the importance of the care and services they provide but we may not always acknowledge that very well to them, it also gives us time to pause and look at how far our services have come, but also how the team work with the specialised metro team for support with the wound care of patients.

I am so pleased that although you have had a long journey, you have come out the other side with a great outcome and hopefully are enjoying life again. I thank you so much for sharing your journey and appreciation of the team with us. I hope all goes well for you in the future.

Kind regards

Margaret Smillie
