Thank you so much to the maternity team at the St George Public Hospital. Especially thanks to Tamera and Zoe my midwives who gave me the confidence to give birth to a 4.74kg baby boy, with only the TENS machine, water therapy, music and, Gas and Air for pain relief, after have a lower segment caesarean section for my first birth.
The team were so good at communicating that I didn't feel worried when baby's shoulder got a bit stuck and Zoe pulled it through. They were so good that my baby put on lots of weight just after we got out of hospital and already weighs 1kg more than he did at birth. Thanks to such a positive birth it really helped my milk to come in, and helped me to feed my boy. And because I have lots of milk and a wonderful birth behind me, I don't have the post natal depression that occurred for me and my partner after the first birth. No-one even wanted to do an Edinburgh score on me, they could see how well we were doing.
I feel amazing and very, very capable.
