A few months ago, I received a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer which, following a series of tests, was determined to be operable. I had surgery at Royal Perth Hospital on to remove the tumour in the pancreas, as well as my spleen and a number of lymph nodes. I am presently in week 3 of my recovery from the operation.
I wish to thank the wonderful people who have been involved in delivering medical care to me through this period, particularly: Dr Suresh and his surgical team at RPH; The high dependency unit, ICU and ward nurses at RPH; Silver Chain's community care nurses; and my GP, Dr Andre of a medical practice in Beverley.
