"2 years of headaches"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Stomach, Bowel and Liver Care (Gastroenterology and Hepatology)

(as the patient),

For over two years I have been suffering from severe daily headaches, I have seen a neurologist who has been more than helpful, they gave me emgality injections and they worked really well but only for a short time, while this was going on I had a number of other medical issues including ulcerative colitis. The doctors and nurses at the gastroenterology at RPH department have been very helpful, I can't praise them enough for how much they have helped me, however with these pains and severe headaches I was given paracetamol/ codeine, they really helped me a lot.

All doctors, nurses and specialists involved in my care at RPH have been fantastic in helping me I must make that clear. They are all amazing, I just hope I can get my life back and who knows I may even have a smile on my face one day.

I was very sorry to hear of your health concerns and how they have affected your life. It was however, lovely to read of the wonderful care you have received from Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) Neurology and Gastroenterology medical and nursing teams. I always feel privileged to hear stories from patients about how RPH staff have positively impacted on their hospital and healthcare experience. I will be delighted to pass on your appreciation to them.

This assures me that the staff at RPH are continually striving to provide high quality, patient centred care. I feel very fortunate to work with such dedicated and exceptional people and am reminded of this when I read stories like yours on Care Opinion.

Thank you for your response Mr Noteboom, I think it is a shame and very unprofessional that my own doctor won't help me with the headaches, refused to give me anything even though the nurse at RPH told me to go back to my GP and I recall said the GP can't leave me in pain and to give me something anything until I see the pain management team. I have detailed this in my recent story on Care Opinion.
