"My stay at Hedland Health Campus"

About: Hedland Health Campus / Emergency Department Hedland Health Campus / High Dependency Unit

(as the patient),

I was admitted through emergency following a medical episode. (5 day stay)  All staff in ED and HDU who I dealt with were outstanding. I was cared for and made to feel safe throughout my journey.

While laying in bed I was able to see and hear interactions between staff and the amount of respect and kindness that staff showed to each other was exceptional. I was always kept informed of what was happening and communication to my husband was fantastic. At no time were we ever left thinking “what’s going on”.

I was then moved to the ward and the continuity of care did not change. I was always kept informed and right up to discharge I knew exactly what was happening. Aftercare was also well organised.

I found all staff I dealt with so kind, caring and supportive.

I feel very lucky that Hedland Health Campus was our closest place to go to emergency. It is an amazing team and WACHS should be very proud of each and every staff member.

I have worked in health for over 30 years and am aware of how hard it can be.

Dear Care in regional WA

Thank you for taking the time to share your story of your recent experience at the Hedland Health Campus.

I was very pleased to read of the excellent care you received throughout your admission, that you were treated with compassion, and you and your husband were kept informed every step of the way. Your feedback will be shared with our dedicated Doctors and Nursing Staff who I’m sure will be pleased to know their teamwork, clinical skills and patient care are seen and appreciated.

Once again, thank you for sharing your story and I hope you are well on the path to recovery.

Kind regards

Katrina Seng
