"A recent function"

About: Logan Lodge

(as a service user),

I have been a permanent resident at Logan Lodge. I found a recent function for residents and families to meet the Board was very confusing on many fronts.

My child travelled for many hours after sending an RSVP. it seemed residents without families were crowded in and unable to access a queue for tea or coffee, none of the food supplied was on the tables. The pianist wasn't present but I recall the staff didn't invite either of the two resident pianists to play until my child encouraged one of the residents (after serving them tea in the absence of help). Nothing was heard from board members.

The event finished at the time people were preparing to come to the dining room so staff began to lift all the chairs back into place. Meanwhile I recall one staff member was standing still at the other end near several residents and I believe said loudly directly to another staff member that they've got a stick up their own bum! Previously I had offered support with more diverse activities but this wasn't follow up or supported or encouraged in any way.

Dear antliamx54

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback and suggestions following the Afternoon tea to meet the Board members and hold games activities on the 26th July.

I agree with you that the meet and greet opportunity with the Board members could have included a more formal approach in introducing the Board members and asking each of them to introduce themselves formally. It was also unfortunate that a number of Board members could not attend the afternoon tea. I apologise for not taking this opportunity in my role as CEO and please be assured that we will do better next time.

In regard to the comments you raised regarding food placement, tea & coffee station access and the piano I will ensure to pass this information onto the team at Logan Lodge to improve how we provide these activities. I have also passed your feedback onto the Logan Lodge Manager regarding the comments made by a staff member during the event.

Best Regards,

Peter
