"Witnessed exceptional care"

About: Fremantle Hospital and Health Service / General Medicine Department & Ward B9S

(as a service user),

Whilst on 9S at Fremantle Hospital I witnessed one of the staff providing exceptional care. I was an observer and watched one of the assistant in nursing (she had a pale blue uniform) and I think was called Katie taking the time and effort to prepare a room for a patient. I watched her come and go with different items for what I can only assume was to make a difference to the environment for the patient and family. I overheard her explain what she did to some students. Katie is someone I would want to care for me and my family member she demonstrated such kindness and empathy. I hope you can recognise Katie and tell her I saw her make a difference and that what she did was exceptional.

Dear empathyjm78

Thank you for sharing your lovely compliment to Ward 9 South at Fremantle Hospital, and to Katie. She sounds exactly like the staff I am ever so proud of across the Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group.

I can confirm that we have shared your post with Katie, her manager, and the team at 9S, with my and the Service Director’s added personal thanks.

Kind regards,

Neil Doverty.
