I am doing a trial for immunotherapy after my cancer treatment and operation for oesophageal cancer. The trial is into the 10-11 month and I started to get sores and a blister on my foot. Oncology at a metropolitan hospital and my GP looked at this and started me on steroid cream. The next day, I did my 11 month treatment and then flew back to Onslow.
On arrival I found I had a full body rash which I informed the oncology doctor and stopped the cream and onto steroid pills. Then over the next few weeks developed big blisters all over my feet and dry dead skin which was very painful and uncomfortable. I went to Onslow hospital to see about this and from there they liaised with the metropolitan hospital and helped with dressing my feet and taking swaps to find out what this may be.
The nurses and staff at Onslow hospital were so understanding with the pain and discomfort I was going through and they assisted me in every way.
This went on for approximately 5 weeks with assistance from Onslow hospital. I must say I could not have got through this with out the help from the staff at Onslow hospital.
I am now down in Perth getting treated and having dermatology investigating this reaction.
