I rang outpatients dept at Box Hill Hospital recently on advice from my GP. I had to cancel a Cardiologist appt late last year because I had COVID. A new appt has not yet been rescheduled. At the time of writing this, it has been 10 months since I saw a Cardiologist and my condition has worsened. The, in my opinion, unhelpful, ignorant staff member I spoke with kept saying ‘that's fine’. I don't see anything fine about: having a life-threatening heart condition; not being able to see a Cardiologist; not being rescheduled for a new appt. I recall they kept telling me that I had an appt and I cancelled it. I kept telling them that it was cancelled because I had COVID. I recall they said ‘that's fine!'
Over the past 12 years I have had a lot of experiences with Box Hill Hospital and some of them have been positive - some of the medical staff in the Cardiology ward are brilliant; and the nursing has generally been terrific, especially given the extra difficulties of working with COVID, but I have also had cause to raise complaints of serious medical misconduct and plain, old bad service from seemingly rude and incompetent staff.
"Non-existent care"
