My parent was admitted to Bsn emergency in the afternoon after a fall, after arriving in Busselton in the evening, I was with my parent and the lovely nurses, special shout-out to Tracey, and Doctor who’s looked out for my parent.
Upon leaving 2 hours later, I asked if nurse could ring me if anything changes, any time ... a nurse walked by and said they were too busy for that, which I replied I was previously told it was ok. I received a phone call an hour and a half later from a nurse saying my parent will be in a ambulance within the next hour to be transferred to Bunbury. I was very appreciative for the phone call as I was emotionally upset and devastated knowing my elderly parent had broken their hip.
Then the nurse I felt was awful and rude said I was not to ring Bsn Ed again as they were too busy and if I want any information about my parent I was to ring Bunbury. Ummm, obvious in my opinion.
So I left Busseltonand arrived at Bunbury the following morning, no parent there. After many attempts to call Bsn ed, a lovely Hannah informed me ,mum had left in ambo 10 minutes ago. Why didn’t they tell me, why be so rude and tell me not to ring Bsn ed again. Very poor behaviour in my opinion, considering I was trying to deal with my parent being in excruciating pain, and trying to deal with a difficult relative. It was devastating.
Anyway, big shoutout to Bunbury ed, to whom I explained about my relative, they actually took the time and had a word to my relative. So all in all, apart from one staff member I feel clearly has no empathy, Bsn was fabulous. Massive shout out to, Bunbury's care factor with family upsets is truly a breath of fresh air considering I feel it happens so much and there’s nothing worse when you are trying to be there for your loved one and you are made to feel upset and anxious.
